Monthly transports are available through the Shenandoah Valley Spay and Neuter Clinic in Harrisonburg.
We recommend you either call our administrative office and leave us a voice mail message (540-727-7554) or email us at [email protected] to request an appointment. A volunteer will be sure to call you as soon as it is possible to answer your questions concerning the surgery, vaccinations, fees, etc.
Fees for our transport include a $5 administrative fee per pet. All transports involve an overnight stay for recovery. Pre and post operative instructions are found below.

NOTE CONCERNING WINTER TRANSPORTS: Please know that registration and drop off (the first day) both take place outdoors. We encourage you to dress warmly and be prepared for a short wait.
You also have the option of leaving your pets in the car until the transport van arrives, but you must complete your paperwork and payment between 7:00AM and 7:30AM. A volunteer on site will assist you with this the morning of the transport and in labeling the carrier appropriate for the proper identification.

Pets must be pre-registered for the program.
All pets must be in individual, appropriate sized carriers (no wire kennels). Carriers may be borrowed from the Humane Society of Culpeper for the transport itself (as available); please let us know your needs in advance of the transport.

All pets must be picked up promptly at 7:00AM the next morning of each transport.

Forms of acceptable payment are cash or check only. Checks are to be written to THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF CULPEPER.

Proof of a current rabies vaccination must be brought to the clinic, otherwise, a rabies vaccination will be administered (to be paid by the animal's owner).

The transport does NOT offer vaccines only - these services must always accompany a spay or neuter. If your pet is already spayed or neutered and you are only in need of a rabies vaccination, please contact us about our newest voucher program - which is available through various local vets.

Although the HSC does not loan traps to the public, we do offer services for feral or stray cats living outdoors, through our TNR or Trap-Neuter-Return program. These spay/neuter services are also available on a monthly basis.
